What You Know About Declare Yourself?

The creators of Reno 911 Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon have joined in the comedic quest to get out the vote to the YouTube generation. The two produced a series of hilarious shorts on the DeclareYourself.com click on "the message" section of the site to see them try to convince 18 year olds why it's only natural that they decide who becomes president.

As responsible adults, we should all make a point to inform the 18 year olds who are poisoned from years of Grand Theft Auto and Oxycoton to take their heads off their South Park bong and watch these videos!

This is actually a really great site...take some time to look around and pass along to friends and colleagues.

What You Know About Dirty Toilets?

Loyal reader and overall decent guy, Marco, requested that I post about his recent frustrations with the restroom.

From the mouth of Marco: "I had to rush to the bathroom to drop a steamer and I was delighted to find piss on the toilet seat. So I had to quickly wipe and clean the seat before papering and sitting down to then drop my deuce. It sucked. So there - blog that."

Oh, poor Marco...maybe we should all chip in and buy him this state-of-the-art high-tech toilet:

The latest model to come from the Land of the Rising Sun is the first to include built-in speakers and an SD card reader pre-loaded with classical music or nature sounds ('cause nothing makes you wanna use the can like the sound of birds chirping).
The toilet also has a night light for your after-dark toilet visits and an automatic sensor that lifts or closes the toilet lid when you approach.

In other totally random toilet news:

Did you know 855,000 phones are flushed down the toilet every year in the UK?
That's both true and ridiculous. SimplySwitch, a price comparison site that apparently services the UK, came up with this number. How many people are in the UK? 60.7 million? That's about 1.5% of the population that actually flushed their phones down the toilet.

Other interesting stats: 315,000 are lost in a taxi, 225,000 in a bus, 58,500 to dogs, and 116,000 in the laundry.

What You Know About Sushi Seki Vs. Sushi of Gari?

SUSHI OF GARI VS SUSHI SEKI

Which sushi spot will reign supreme?
Whose tuna toro will be crowned king?
Will Seki's spicy scallop hand roll deilver up to expectations?
Will I declare bankruptsy after receiving the bill?

All these questions and more will be answered after this weekend's virginal trip to Sushi Seki. As a die-hard Gari fan, I have been hard pressed to believe that Gari's apprentice chef, Seki, could reach the masterful approach to omakase (chef's choice) that Mr. G has perfected over the years.

Alas, by next week I will happily answer the question once and for all: Gari or Seki!!!!!

Who Will Reign Supreme?
Gari
Seki

What You Know About Kobayashi?

A shocking and stunning press release has just been leaked into the world of "Speed Eating", as legendary Japanese hero, Takeru "Tsunami" Kobayashi, has announced that he will not be participating in this year's Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest on July 4th in Coney Island.

Despite reports that Kobayashi suffered a jaw injury during his breakneck training, many speculate that his announcement was made in fear of losing to local boy, Joey Chestnut.

Chestnut recently beat Takeru's record of 53 doggies in 12 minutes, shocking professional and amateur athletes around the world.

What You Know About Fur Hat?

My apologies if you don't get the reference...

In a nutshell, I used to see a gentleman every morning on the way to work (that resembled this dude) who was always wearing a fur-hat. For some odd reason, I became compelled to whisper "Fur Hat" in his direction each time we passed during the morning commute. This continued for about 3 weeks until one morning I was feeling extra giddy and I looked him straight in the eyes and in a rather booming voice, I said, "Fuuuuuuuuuuur HAT!"

To Mr. FurHat-
I have not seen you, my friend, since that day and I miss you and your hat quite terribly. If you are still out there and you happen to read this blog, please know that I'm sorry and I will forever regret the day that my enthusiasm brought our unspoken relationship to an end.
