What You Know About Wogie's?

According to New York's self-proclaimed #1 Cheesesteak taster, Marco, Wogie's dominates with it's great taste, excellent service, and laid-back atmosphere - all for a very very low cost. The menu and history of the place can be found by clicking on the link below.

Unfortunately for Marco, I found this righteous opposition on chowhound:

"Wogie's is a nasty hole full of loud cheeseballs gurgling on their phlegm-inducing cheese steaks and laying waste to substandard beer. If you can get past the putrid patrons and the boorish management, you still have to stomach the nasty knucklehead food. A real diarrhea- hut."

This guy does have a point...we are a bunch of cheeseballs with a love for stomach curdling "knucklehead food."

What You Know About Monday Mustache Madness?

Going forward, today shall be known to all "That is that" readers as "Monday Mustache Madness!" Every Monday will feature a new collection of mustached characters. I encourage you to leave a comment or send me a note with your personal request for new mustached features for the upcoming weeks. This week will focus on Major League Baseball players, as requested by DonBranDon.

In the early 1970s, Major League Baseball players seldom, if ever, wore facial hair. The practice had been widespread in the 19th Century, but by the early 20th Century it was rare for a player to sport a mustache or beard. As detailed in the book Mustache Gang, Oakland A's eccentric owner Charlie Finley decided to hold a mustache-growing contest within his team. Many of the players grew them, and Rollie Fingers' distinctive style is probably the best-remembered. When the A's faced the Cincinnati Reds whose team rules forbade facial hair, in the 1972 World Series, facial hair was still sufficiently unusual in baseball that the Series was dubbed by media as "The hairs vs. the squares". Thanks in part to the on-field success of the A's in the early 1970s, along with changing fashions, facial hair has again become very common among baseball players in the intervening years.

What You Know About Music-Social Networking?

There are a bunch of new music oriented "social networking" sites that are offering fans a great way to discover, explore, and share your personal preferences in music today. Here is a brief overview of some of those sites. Hope you find something that suits you musically and socially:

Last.fm is a service that keeps track of what music you listen to, and then helps you discover new music based on your preferences. You can use Last.fm to listen to music, find out about artists you may like, get in touch with other people with similar music taste, discover gigs in your local area, as well as create charts that you can publish on your personal site. Last.fm also allows artists and labels to upload their own music and videos and promote them for free.

iLike, another familiar one, is a service to help you organize your music, share your music tastes, and discover new artists through your friends. iLike basically helps you discover new music based on what you’re already listening to. It lets you share music libraries with your friends, browse and sample their most played songs, and compare your compatibility scores. iLike will also send you music recommendations directly in iTunes.

MOG is a social network that helps you “discover people through music and discover music through people”. Basically MOG makes it easy for you to find new music to listen to by using custom filters and personalized suggestions. The site also provides users with news, reviews and streaming audio. MOG also features a music TV that continuously broadcasts videos taken from YouTube.

What You Know About Showalter?

Huge news...Michael Showalter has just signed a deal with JDUB Records.
Showalter has always been one of my all time favorite comedians...starting with The State, and then Wet Hot American Summer, and all his random internet video clips.

On Thursday, July 26th JDUB will be recording 2 intimate shows back-to-back at Union Hall in Brooklyn, NY for inclusion on Michael Showalter's debut album.

If you haven't seen the new "Michael Showalter's Showalter" on collegehumor quite yet, I would strongly recommend that you check them all out.

Here is a link to an interview that Show did with Paul Rudd:

What You Know About This Wack-A-Doo?

Alright, this one is comin straight from the vaults of Professor Tickles...AKA: Adam.

A glorious clip which details this very articulate experts' opinion of how to do your woman right.

Some of her insights include:

"If you wanna earn your man, you gots to learn your man"

"I got me a Masters Degree in gettin' played and used by man"

"That man gotta know how to hit them walls and drive the middle like a dog"

BigUpsets.com launches today with a user generated video contest. Submit highlights of any upset, from a Little League game to a pick up street hockey match, for a chance to win $500 in cash, retail gift cards or a tickets to next year's Final Four. The site was created to form an online community where fans can gather and share their most memorable sporting experiences.

I'm going to rumage through old video footage tonight to try and find one of the many fabled days when "Law & Order" stepped-up to the challenge and beat the "Ski-Neck-Ta-Dee Boyz" on the hallowed grounds of the "Nest"....for those of you not in the 'know'....in english this translates into: "Jonny and I beat Gregg and Marco in Stickball"

Anywho...check out the site...there are some great college bball games in there.
